Ministry

Overview

Rose Window at St. Andrew's
At St. Andrew’s, the central focus of our life as a body of believers in Christ’s Church is supporting every person’s growth toward Christ-likeness, toward becoming like Him. Our Parish mission statement addresses the full path to maturing in the faith -- from leading those who do not yet know Christ personally to new life in Christ (“winning the lost for Jesus Christ”); to helping parishioners learn the fundamentals of the faith (“discipling every believer”); to enabling every parishioner to participate in the Lord’s work using his or her unique gifts (“equip and empower every member for ministry”); and to bringing glory and honor to His name by our life and doctrine (“worshipping God in the beauty of holiness and in Spirit and truth”).

Ministry at St. Andrew’s represents all of these elements of our mission statement -- in diverse settings, serving many different groups and needs, and employing the wonderful variety of gifts the Lord has bestowed upon members of the Body of Christ. In ministry, we put our faith into action and discover God’s unique call for us personally – “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). In ministry, we offer ourselves as ‘living sacrifices’ (Romans 12:1), finding ways to meet needs, to serve others, to experience the joy of giving and of Christian community, and to share the Gospel and the love of Christ with our neighbor, as well as those in distant lands.
