Canterbury Choir

Three years ago I wrote several articles on the great tradition of the Boy Choir with regard to their service to churches over several centuries. I pined for the beginning of a Boy Choir tradition here at St. Andrew's which would rival those photos of old on the wall of the Parish House.

Take a look at this picture. There are two girls and how many boys? The girls, Renee Erlandson and Catey Bawcombe-Schast (my very own) are graduating to the St. Andrew's Girls Choir (teenage girls). What? You didn't know there was a teenage girls choir? There is now! Or at least, the beginnings of one. We have five girls willing to donate their time and talent to singing at St. Andrew's.

But let's get back to the children's choir.  If we were to wave good-bye to Mr. Morse and Dr. Erlandson tomorrow (please don't leave!) we would lose MOST OF THE CHILDREN'S CHOIR!  Thank goodness for the Turner boys! They are loyal and faithful servants...and good singers. The two older girls are going to another choir. We

now have an all boy choir. Yes, I wanted an all boy choir BUT I ALSO WANTED AN ALL GIRLS CHOIR OF THE SAME AGE CHILDREN.  WE NEED GIRLS! I can't believe it has come to this! Boys, please don't leave. Encourage your friends to come along and join the fun. Encourage them to vest on Sunday morning.
